The Impact of Granted Bunker Gear in Arkansas

The Impact of Granted Bunker Gear in Arkansas

Waldo, AR

After receiving new bunker gear to replace equipment over 10 years old, Mount Vernon Volunteer Fire Department in Arkansas wasted no time putting the new personal protective equipment (PPE) to use. With the new PPE on hand, the department was able to perform various tasks that were not safe or even possible before including:

  • Enter houses to put out fires, retrieve valuables and even rescue a dog!
  • Assist neighboring departments following complex vehicle accidents
  • Attend live fire trainings, improving their skills and readiness should emergencies occur

“The granted fire suits have had a positive impact on our department by allowing first responders to perform more tasks, attend more trainings, and assist more communities.”
– Jason Sands, Mount Vernon Volunteer Fire Department
