Video Series

The First 15

To celebrate the Foundation's 15th anniversary, we launched #TheFirst15, a video series highlighting lifesaving equipment grants and their impact, told by first responders dedicated to protecting their communities and saving lives.
Episode 1: Rescue Boats
In coastal areas, rescue boats make a lifesaving difference. Thanks to supporters like you, our Foundation has donated over 75 rescue boats to first responder organizations across the country. Hear from Nassau County’s Fire Chief Brady Rigdon on how the boat is making a difference in his county.
Episode 2: Smoke Alarms
Smoke alarms save lives. In partnership with the American Red Cross, we’ve helped install smoke alarms and provide fire safety education in more than 25,000 homes across the country. Hear from Lakesha Burton with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office on how you can help us continue to save lives.
Episode 3: Decontamination Kits
Decontamination kits are essential in the fight to prevent cancer among firefighters. Watch how our Foundation worked together with fire service leadership in Florida to equip every fire apparatus in the state with decontamination kits that reduce cancer-causing toxins.

Episode 4: Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)
During cardiac arrest emergencies, automated external defibrillators (AEDs) can make the difference between life and death. Through the years, our Foundation has donated more than 4,000 AEDs to first responders and public safety organizations across the country.
Episode 5: All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs)
All-terrain vehicles (ATV) are used by first responders for rapid response to off-road incidents and natural disasters, as well as easier access at large events. See how the City of St. Augustine is using its ATV to serve the community.
Episode 6: Thermal Imaging Cameras
Thermal imaging cameras allow first responders to see through smoke, darkness and heat-permeable barriers to help locate victims in need of rescue or the source of a fire. Thanks to supporters like you, more than 600 thermal imaging cameras have been granted by Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
Episode 7: K9s
Whether they’re arson dogs, search & rescue dogs or patrol dogs, K9s are invaluable to first responders in locating missing people and detecting dangers. Since many communities do not have the resources to support K9s and everything they need, we’re proud to be able to support fire, police and search and rescue organizations by adding these extraordinary animals to their teams.
Episode 8: Extrication Equipment
These lightweight cutting, spreading and ram tools quickly and safely assist first responders with extricating victims in car accidents and structural collapses. See how this lifesaving equipment is used by firefighters.

First responder grants accepted on a quarterly basis.
