AED Granted to Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Saves a Life

Flagler County Sheriff’s Office in Florida (FCSO) was awarded 16 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for their patrol vehicles to prepare officers for cardiac arrest emergencies. Just months after receiving these lifesaving tools, FCSO deputies responded to a call regarding a man who had stopped breathing and was laying on his bed with no pulse. Responding deputies performed CPR and administered two shocks from an AED, resulting in the man regaining a pulse. He was safely transported to the hospital for further care.

“Thanks to the Foundation, our vehicles are equipped with lifesaving AEDs. Our deputies often arrive at emergencies before the paramedics but have to wait for medics to arrive on the scene to start lifesaving measures. I’m proud of the immediate response and aid my team was able to provide. Thank you for helping to equip our patrol cars with AEDs.”
