Granted Chest Compression Device Saves Multiple Lives in Louisiana

Walker, LA

Thanks to the addition of a new chest compression device, Livingston Parish Fire Protection District #4 in Louisiana has strengthened their response to cardiac emergencies. The device was purchased through grant funding from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and has proven incredibly vital, accounting for 10 of the 12 total saves over the past six months.

In the third week of August, the device played a critical role during a cardiac emergency. As crews arrived onsite to deputies performing CPR, they quickly placed and activated the device, delivering consistent compressions while paramedics provided advanced care. After roughly 15 minutes, the patient’s pulse was restored, and they were transported to the hospital.
