Florida First Responders Save Woman in Cardiac Arrest

Florida First Responders Save Woman in Cardiac Arrest

Niceville, FL

In late 2024, Florida’s North Bay Fire District and Okaloosa County EMS crews were dispatched to a 72-year-old woman in cardiac arrest. Crews utilized their granted chest compression system to provide continuous, high-quality chest compressions. After 29 minutes of relentless effort, first responders successfully restored the patient’s pulse.

The patient was transported to the hospital, where she was stabilized before being transferred to a rehabilitation facility to continue her recovery.

“This remarkable outcome would not have been possible without the support of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which awarded us a grant for the chest compression device. Since adding this tool to our arsenal four months ago, it has already made a significant impact. In addition to this case, we’ve seen three other cardiac arrest patients regain pulses and achieve positive outcomes thanks to this lifesaving device.”
– Ryan Adair, Battalion Chief, North Bay Fire District
