Thanks to the quick action of first responders in Ada County, Idaho, an AED awarded by the Foundation to Star Police Department was used to save a man’s life during a cardiac emergency.
A man was found unresponsive and not breathing after his pickup truck hit another vehicle. Star Police Department and Ada County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and immediately began cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). They grabbed the awarded automated external defibrillator (AED) from their nearby patrol car and provided the man with lifesaving assistance.
Due to the quick reactions of these local first responders and their lifesaving efforts, the man is alive and has been released from the hospital to recover at home with his wife and children. Soon after his recovery, he visited his local heroes and tearfully thanked the officers alongside his family.
