Just one week after receiving training on newly granted vehicle extrication tools, Sparks Fire Department partnered with a neighboring fire department to rescue victims of a head-on accident.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, multiple victims were trapped inside two severely-damaged vehicles. Local crews worked tirelessly to free the critically-injured patients so they could receive medical care.
“The effectiveness of these new tools was extremely valuable. These new tools require less setup to begin extrication and provide a safer atmosphere for our first responders and those we serve.” -Battalion Chief Kevin Jakubos, Sparks Fire Department
Thanks to all those who support Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, firefighters had the right equipment on-hand at the right time.
