In November of 2019, Junior Fire Company #2, in Frederick, Maryland responded to an early morning cardiac arrest call. A man had been found unresponsive in a local parking lot. First responders began CPR using a donated LUCAS Chest Compression System, a machine that delivers consistent, high-quality chest compressions. While mechanical chest compressions took place, first responders were able to provide additional assistance by setting up lighting to better care for the patient, ultimately helping save his life.
“Junior Fire Company #2 takes great pride in being organized, efficient and quick to respond to calls for service. The addition of the Lucas Chest Compression Systems to both of our front-line ambulances have assisted us greatly in doing so.” – Leon Norris, Junior Fire Company #2, Emergency Medical Technician
