DONATION DESCRIPTION

Spring Hill Volunteer Fire Department received a thermal imaging camera and gas meter worth $6,410. The awarded camera will be used to detect body heat and hot spots in burning buildings, as well as during offshore rescue missions, allowing firefighters to quickly reach victims and provide lifesaving assistance. The gas meter will assist in detecting hazardous gases in dangerous environments.

Banks Community Volunteer Fire Department received a skid unit worth $14,810. The awarded skid unit will replace the old unit, allowing firefighters to provide fire suppression in rural areas impassable by traditional emergency vehicles, such as on large tracts of farm or timber land.

ABOUT FIREHOUSE SUBS PUBLIC SAFETY FOUNDATION

In 2005, Firehouse Subs created the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation with the mission of providing funding, lifesaving equipment, and educational opportunities to first-responders and public safety organizations. Through the non-profit 501(c)(3), Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has given more than $17 million to hometown heroes in 44 states and Puerto Rico, including more than $1 million in Alabama.

IN-RESTAURANT FUNDRAISING INITIATIVES

Each restaurant recycles leftover, five-gallon pickle buckets, available to guests for a $2 donation to the Foundation. Donation canisters on register counters explain the non-profit’s mission and collect spare change, while the Round Up Program allows guests to “round up” their bill to the nearest dollar. All funds raised benefit the Foundation.
